Eat My Shorts

We want your comedy shorts –

And no, we’re not talking about the embarrassing pair of cartoon boxer shorts your mum bought you for Christmas. We are calling for submissions for the second Eat My Shorts comedy film competition, which is being held as part of the 2009 International Comedy Film Festival.

The rules couldn’t be any more straightforward. The films need to be short…and they need to be comedies. Easy peasy. How short, you ask? Under 10 minutes, although if last year’s results are anything to go by, the shorter, the better.

Entries must have been produced within the last twelve months and submitted on DVD in any regional format. Films in languages other than English require English subtitles. Simply download our application form here and pop it in the post along with your DVD. Don’t forget to kiss the envelope for good luck.

Our panel of industry and comedy experts will grab their popcorn and watch all of the entries, whittling the witty creations down to the very best. We will let you know if yours has been short listed for a screenings at the International Comedy Film Festival in September, so you can show off to all your family and friends.

The top 20 films will be screened at the festival, with the winners being announced at a special gala event. The winning films will be announced at our all-star gala night being held at the Riviera International Centre - live from the glittering heart of the English Riviera on Sunday 28 September.

Eat My Shorts is set to develop into a fantastic annual competition and a celebration of comedy film, so get creative. And remember, "laugh and the world laughs with you, snore and you sleep alone…"
