From the Office to the Box Office

From the Office to the Box Office is a Quebec documentary film in color directed by Denys Desjardins , released in 2009 .


Starting with the founding of the National Film Board of Canada in 1939 , this film showcases the work of film artisans seeking to produce feature-length fiction films within this government institution whose mandate is to produce of short films documentaries. Against and against the will of the state, some creators will succeed in diverting this mandate while others will be forced to leave the institution to produce commercial films without the help of the state.
